আমি শ্রী গোপিকা কান্ত দত্ত, শ্রীপুর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের একজন স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা এবং জেলা আইন সেবা কর্তৃপক্ষ, উত্তর ত্রিপুরা, ধর্মনগর এর একজন প্যারা লিগ্যাল ভলান্টিয়ার, এই মর্মে সর্বসাধারণ ও সংবাদমাধ্যমের অবগতির জন্য জানাচ্ছি যে, গত ১৭ই জানুয়ারী, ২০২৬ইং সন্ধ্যা আনুমানিক ৬টা ৪৫ মিনিট নাগাদ, শ্রীপুর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত এলাকার একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুতর ও উদ্বেগজনক ঘটনা আমাদের দৃষ্টিগোচর হয়েছে।
পীড়িতার পরিবারের বক্তব্য ও অভিযোগ অনুযায়ী, একজন অসহায় শ্রমজীবী নারী শ্রীপুর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত এলাকায় অবস্থিত ত্রীসাম বাগান বাড়িতে কাজ করার সুবাদে ত্রীসাম বাগান বাড়ির মালিক শ্রী মিহির কান্তি নাথ কর্মসূত্রে তাঁর উপর কর্তৃত্বের অপব্যবহার করে কর্মস্থলে কর্তৃত্বের অপব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে বলপূর্বক যৌন নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন। নির্যাতনের পর তাঁকে ভয়ভীতি ও প্রাণনাশের হুমকি দিয়ে ঘটনাটি গোপন রাখতে বাধ্য করা হয়। বর্তমানে তিনি অন্তঃসত্তা এবং তাঁর ও অনাগত সন্তানের নিরাপত্তা বিঘ্নিত হওয়ায় তাঁকে সরকারি আশ্রয়ে রাখা হয়েছে।
এই ধরনের ঘটনা সমাজের জন্য অত্যন্ত লজ্জাজনক এবং মানবাধিকার ও আইনের পরিপন্থী। জেলা আইন পরিষেবা কর্তৃপক্ষের পক্ষ থেকে ভুক্তভোগী নারীকে বিনামূল্যে আইনি সহায়তা, প্রয়োজনীয় আইনগত পরামর্শ এবং সুরক্ষা প্রদানের প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রশাসন ও তদন্তকারী সংস্থার নিকট ঘটনার সুষ্ঠু, নিরপেক্ষ ও দ্রুত তদন্তের জোর দাবি জানানো হচ্ছে।
সংবাদমাধ্যম ও সমাজের সকল স্তরের মানুষের নিকট আমার আবেদন, এই সংবেদনশীল বিষয়টি দায়িত্বশীলতার সঙ্গে উপস্থাপন করুন এবং ভুক্তভোগীর পরিচয় ও মর্যাদা রক্ষা করুন। ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে আমার অবস্থান সুস্পষ্ট এবং আমি ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে সার্বিক সহযোগিতা প্রদানে সর্বদা প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

Press Release Regarding Alleged Workplace Sexual Assault in Sripur
I, Shri Gopika Kanta Dutta, a permanent resident of Sripur Gram Panchayat and a Para Legal Volunteer of the District Legal Services Authority, North Tripura, Dharmanagar, hereby inform the general public and the media that on 17th January, 2026, at approximately 6:45 PM, an extremely serious and distressing incident in the Sripur Gram Panchayat area came to our notice.
According to the statement and complaint of the survivor’s family, a vulnerable working woman, while employed at the Trisam Garden House located within the Sripur Gram Panchayat area, was subjected to forced sexual assault due to abuse of authority at the workplace by the owner of Trisam Garden House, Shri Mihir Kanti Nath. Following the assault, she was threatened and intimidated with dire consequences and compelled to keep the incident confidential. At present, she is pregnant, and due to threats to her life and the safety of her unborn child, she has been placed under government shelter for protection.
Such incidents are extremely shameful for society and are against human rights and the rule of law. On behalf of the District Legal Services Authority, necessary steps have been taken to provide the survivor with free legal aid, essential legal counselling, and protection. At the same time, a strong demand has been made to the concerned administration and investigating agencies to ensure a fair, impartial, and expeditious investigation into the incident.
I appeal to the media and to people from all sections of society to present this sensitive matter responsibly and to safeguard the identity and dignity of the survivor. My stand in favor of justice is clear, and I remain personally committed to always providing full cooperation to ensure that justice is served.
